SYNERGY 2010 - A National Level Management Fest
Synergy 2010 is the Annual National Level Fest organized by SDM College of Business Management for Under-Graduate Business Management Students to test their knowledge, skills and attitudes against each other.
This Fest provides a platform for interaction between the Industry and the Academician and provides the upcoming managers with a forum to display their competence and aptitude at the higher level. Synergy 2010, with the theme of Formula One “Grand Prix” was held on 4th and 5th Feb, 2010. Synergy 2010 was inaugurated by two alumni of SDM, Dr Vijayaprakash, commissioner, Mangalore city Corporation and Mr. Sanjay Rao, Managing Director, Mandovi Motors Ltd ., Mangalore.
The function was presided by Dr.Devaraj.K., Principal.
The inauguration was followed by the Ice–Breaker event. Synergy 2010 included various management related games such as Marketing, Human Resource, Advertising, Quiz, Best Manager, Finance, Stock and a new event Racer which reflected the theme of Synergy 2010, that is “Grand Prix”. There were nine events in total consisting of elaborate rounds. On the first day of the fest that is on 4th Feb, the preliminary rounds of Quiz, Human Resource, Stock, Marketing and Best Manager event started at 6.30 a.m. and the various rounds of these events were conducted in different class rooms according to the event schedule. On the second day, that is 5th Feb the final rounds of Human Resource, Finance and Advertising were held in the Conference hall from 2.30p.m to 5.15p.m. Simultaneously the final rounds of Marketing, Quiz and Best Manager were conducted in the auditorium from 1.00 p.m. to 6.15 p.m. More than 40 judges were invited for these events and most of them were professionals. Hence participants were tested in their management skills in a realistic environment so that they experience the actual thrill and challenges of the corporate world.
Over the years the fest has earned a reputation for being a bench mark for competitive skills. The events and competitions are based on core business and management ideas; at the same time they are adapted to suit the current economic and social situation. This is being done to provide a competition edge for the participants in the respective sphere.
The valedictory function was held on 5th Feb in the evening and the chief guests were Shri. D. Rajendra Kumar, Managing Director, Auto Matrix, Mangalore and Dr. Neetha Rajendra Kumar. Synergy 2010 overall championship was won by
